The sheet is engraved on two sides:- Page 109 shows a Map of Merionethshire with a description of the County, identifying the Hundreds, the number of acres, houses, parishes and market towns. Continues from Page 4. Page 110 shows the Road from London to Montgomery … commencing at the 4 Shire Stones and continuing via Campden, Willersley, Evesholme, Piddle and Worcester to Grunley. Embellished with the Coat of Arms of Evesholme & of the Armorial Crest of the Viscount of Campden, as well as copious notes on places of interest along the way. The strip maps shows the main road and crossroads leading to various towns along the way. The engraving details the surrounding topography including churches, rivers, bridges, pastures, woods, forests and hills. On each strip is a compass rose showing the direction of travel as well as the distance, in miles, from the start point. The engravings have distinct plate marks and good margins. The engraving has been washed & pressed by a qualified conservator (see Conservation Services link on the Home Page).
