A superb view of two Danish towns.

The upper engraving is a panoramic view of Helsingor (Elsinor) on the northeast coast of the island of Zealand. History of Elsinore can be traced back to 70 BC but the City as we know it today was founded in the 1420's by the Danish king Eric of Pomerania. He established the Sound Dues in 1429 and built the castle 'Krogen', which was made bigger in the 1580s and named Kronborg.
The lower engraving shows a panoramic view of the town of Ribe (German: Ripen), the oldest town of Denmark.
"...Georg Braun & Franz Hogenberg’s Civitates Orbis Terrarum, stands as one of the greatest monuments of late 16th and early 17th Century European cartography. Published in Cologne, Germany in a series of six volumes between 1572 and 1617/8, and, when finally completed, comprising nearly 550 City views and plans, the Civitates is also one of the most valuable sources for the study of Renaissance urban cartography. " - Roderick M Barron.
