Title: 'Islandia'.

The Mercator / Hondius map of Iceland with Latin text printed on the back. Most likely based this map on an earlier Ortelius work. The map is decorative with a sea monster, compass motif and a superb cartouche at the right edge.

The map is in excellent condition with wide margins and no discernible faults except for a paper repair in the top margin well away from the image area.
