Publication: Peregrinus in Jerusalem (Fremdling zu Jerusalem), Myller, A. M., Vienna & Nurnberg. Engraver: J Hiller, A J Mansfelt, J J Ditzler, J F Fischer and others.

An engraving of the island of Rhodes. The first settlers of the island came from Asia and evidence of Mycenaean settlement has been found. Dorians were the next settlers. In 500 BC Rhodes was already a strong power. After the naval Battle of Salamis and the defeat of the Persians, the island became part of the Delian League, of which Athens was the leader. During 408 BC the City states of Rhodes combined and formed the new City of Rhodes. From a book by A M Myller recounting his travels from 1725 to 1727. Myller journeyed from Rome to Jerusalem then on to Troy, Gallipoli and Constantinople. From Constantinople he travelled to Egypt and then to Syria. Finally from Syria he travelled to Malta and back to Rome. Scarce.
