A splendid map of Crete with two cartouches and sailing ships at sea from the 1619 Latin edition of Mercator's landmark Atlas. The dramatic title cartouche is flanked by smaller inset maps of the islands of Corfu, Zakynthos, Milos, Naxos, Santorini, and Karpathos.

The map is in excellent condition with wide margins and no discernible faults. The shadow at the centrefold is caused by flash photography.
