On the verso of the slip case is an key to the signs used (in three languages: Swiss-German, French, English). In the 4 corners of the map are shown miniature route maps: to Strassburg, Innsbruck, Turin and Lyon. Lombardy and Venice are shown as belonging to Austria whilst Savoy, Piedmont and Lombardy are shown as belonging to the Kingdom of Sardinia. Mountain heights are shown in feet although on the slipcase there are 3 scales: French leagues, geographical miles, British statute miles. The map is in a very good condition with light soiling due to use. The slipcase is intact and in reasonable good condition although the edges are scuffed.
