This antique map is almost exactly the same as N Vischer's map from c. 1657 (see Poortman #122) but with German text and omitting the author's and engraver's names. The fishermen in the lower left & right hand corners have also been omitted. The map is oriented with North to the right. It depicts Palestine (Judea & galilee) at the time of Jesus and the Apostles. On either side of the title cartouche are illustrated scenes from the life of Christ. German text on verso.
