Description

Title: Natoliae ... Asia Minor / Aegypti Recentior / Carthaginis Typus
from 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' .

An attractive map of three areas of great importance in the ancient world; Turkey, Egypt and Carthage. The three maps are depicted somewhat separately on the page: Turkey (shown with north to the left of the page) and including Cyprus, Crete and other Aegean islands appears on the right, the Nile delta is shown top left and Carthage and environs appears lower left. Each of the three maps has its own individual title. The pyramids are depicted pictorially as are the forts surrounding Carthage along with its aqueduct.

The map is in good condition with some overall toning and some red pen marks underlining placenames within the image. Wide margins with small area of loss at top left corner (well away from the image area).
