An elegant map of the Magellan Straits in the typical decorative De Fer style.

Cartographer, engraver and publisher, Nicolas de Fer issued altogether rather more than 600 separate maps, including atlases, sheet maps and large wall maps. He gained a great reputation in his lifetime and was appointed Geographer to the King.

The map is printed on good quality thick paper and is in very good condition.
