Title: Cruchley's New Plan of London shewing all the new and intended improvements to the present time.

A detailed plan of Victorian London stretching from Shadwell Dock in the east to Kensington Gardens in the west and Kings Cross in the north to Vauxhall in the south. Shows Charing Cross Suspension Bridge (constructed by I K Brunel), a pedestrian bridge from Belvidere Row, Lambeth to Hungerford Market (the future site of Charing Cross Terminus).

Laid on linen but not dissected. Attached to covers. Folds as given. Generally in good condition but needs cleaning. There is a printer crease in the lower right corner. There is a piece missing in the lower left corner with small loss of neat line. Generally very good.

Not in Howgego.

Howgego 307/A/18 mentions a map with no date but which was included in the 1849 edition of Cruchley's Picture of London. This map does in fact have a date in the bottom left corner which reads 'A new edition improved to Jan 1st 1849'. The front past-down mentions that 'A companion to this map,with a description of every place named in the above, with views of all the Public buildings, is published by G F Cruchley, ... . ', one assumes that this is a reference to his 'Pictures of London'. The size differs to that given by Howgego (14 5/8" x 21 3/4").
