Description

Description: 12 gores on one sheet making a globe of approx 35 cm. circumference (3 inch diameter). Alaska is shown as Russian Territory (purchased by the USA in 1867). San Francisco is noted (name changed in 1847). In February 1848, by the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, Mexico ceded Nevada, Utah, California, Arizona, Western Colorado and New Mexico to the USA. On this engraving the territories are still shown as belonging to Mexico.
