Products available for sale on this website are subject to these terms and conditions. By purchasing products on this website you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time, and you are bound by the version available on the site at the date of purchase.

All items were published at or around the date specified and are original copper-engravings or woodblock unless described otherwise. We do not sell reproductions.

All items are sold for their scientific primary purpose for use as a map or chart. All items are two dimensional and provide a geographical representation. We do not sell framed maps.

Measurements are by the engraver.s plate unless specified, height by width.

"Original colour" means that the item was hand coloured at the approximate time of publication.
"Early colour" is old colour but probably not originally performed by the publisher.
"Later colour" means the item was coloured any time.

All items are in good antiquarian condition unless they are noted to the contrary. Antiquarian condition means that all items are original and very old. They should not be expected to be in modern condition. Flaws, such as slight browning, generally have only a marginal impact on the value of an item and are often considered desirable as adding to the character. We have described flaws thoroughly.

We have developed a condition code system that can be used as a general guide:

AAA - Excellent condition. The engraving has a strong impression and bright colours. The paper is clean and of high quality with wide margins.

AA - Very good condition. The engraving has a strong impression and bright colours. The paper is clean and of high quality with wide margins with no imperfections in the engraved area. There may be faint age toning in the image. Any small tears or toning are in the margin area only. A professional craftsman has performed any restoration work.

A - Good condition. The item has no significant flaws. Signs of age may be present such as foxing or small tears on the centrefold with no loss of the engraved area. The paper is still in good condition. A professional craftsman has performed any restoration work.

B - Fair condition. The item has imperfections such as tears on the centrefold or in the margin that enter the engraved area. The paper quality is average and is showing some foxing.

C - Poor condition. The item has suffered damage and is withered by age. Needs repair or cleaning.

Your Representations

You represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal right and ability to enter into this agreement and to use any debit or credit card used to purchase goods or services on this site. You also warrant that all information you have provided is accurate and true.

Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted on your computer using 128 bit encryption before being transmitted over the internet. They are only decrypted after they reach our server.

Payment

Orders can be made via our website, by telephone, e-mail, or letter, and will be dealt with in strict order of receipt. Payment must be made in sterling either with a cheque or banker's draft, by wire transfer or by Visa / Mastercard credit cards or by Switch card. Credit card transactions for items offered in our on-line catalogue are treated as mail orders.

Where payment is made by credit or debit card, you authorise us to debit your card with the total cost of the products selected plus VAT and delivery costs. Any refunds made in respect of returns or cancellation will be made to the same card. If your card cannot be verified or is any way unacceptable, the order will be cancelled immediately.

Title

All items remain the property of Map Mogul Ltd until payment has been received in full. Title to the product passes at the time of despatch from our stock. We are not liable for any loss or damage caused during delivery.

Liability

We are not liable for loss of profits, loss of business or other consequential, special or indirect loss arising out of the use of any product purchased from this site. All implied warranties and undertakings are excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
